![]() Staff is always super friendly & helpful. User ( 04:35) I usually come for the vinyl selection - some might be a little overpriced (but really not that bad at all), but I have no problem overlooking that with their selection, organization, cleanliness & everything else they have to offer. This place doesn't even deserve one star. I went in with a good attitude and left unhappy. Oh yeah did I mention the have bins of free stuff every day? If you watch movies, play video games (and board games!), read books, listen to music, not from the area, never herd of 2nd and Charles or have time to kill. You'll find something cool, find something you'll buy, something you really want and come back for (it won't be there when you come back, trust me) and something you can't afford. Prices are fair, sometimes slightly overpriced but also sometimes VERY underpriced compared to eBay and current values. Attentive, friendly employees and very helpful, even if it's your third time there in the same day. I go almost every day or even multiple times a day (not a joke). This is also an awesome place if you're thinking of picking up a musical talent, they have a plethora of used instruments that are good quality! User ( 04:56) This place is very poor with neatness i tried to trade in over 70 dvds they took 15 and gave me 14 dollars the workers had an attitude there were bugs in the store and no one gave us any attention User ( 16:01) Nerd/geek/bookworm/music lover/movie junkie/gamer/collector paradise. User ( 09:29) A Wonderland of all that is music, books and general memorabilia. two employees told me pretty much the same thing. Giving your precious reading materials to 2nd and Charles is like throwing them into the trash. go through the headache of having a yard-sale and get more for your books. 33 cents for each individual trade-in (averaged against the number I traded and the price they gave me) subtracted from an average 2nd and Charles shelf price of $11.99 and you get a gross profit of $11.66. Basically, they paid me less than a dollar per book and then marked them up for resale over $10 per book. Each of their used versions were priced at $10 and higher and were not in as good condition as mine. I used the time they needed to "evaluate and price my books" to walk back to the areas where the books I had just brought in were shelved and found four examples for the exact titles (one of the titles by Douglas Preston, two by Lincoln Childs and a Kim Harrison). ![]() All my trade-in books were bought new (Amazon and B&N) and kept in pristine condition (even the dust covers). User ( 03:22) Traded two overflowing totes of paperbacks and hardbacks containing items that had only hit the shelves within the past eight months. I wish they had an inventory search gui up front. I still try to be polite though User ( 06:50) I don't know, it's kind of unorganized. Absolutely awesome service! User ( 13:40) I don't always have a good interaction with the staff here, honestly they seem to change their whole aura off judgement. It's difficult to go in for just a few minutes. It's a child friendly place, and overall great for people of all ages. ![]() ![]() What Others Say about this business: User ( 12:21) I love this place! It's great for books, movies, games, musical instruments, music of all kinds, and decorations.
